Kladky
Kladky - Lemon Hill (feat. Bennett Kuhn & Julia Rainer)
Kladky's second single off her upcoming EP Dawn
Lemon Hill follows the story of Elizabeth and Kladky just after Elizabeth was physically assaulted. Elizabeth’s community showed up in plenty and Kladky was inspired to document it. She finished the song many months later, when the two friends were tired of how long it took to come back into themselves, and to feel strong again. To incorporate Elizabeth’s voice into the sound collage, they spent an evening with a tape recorder on the Schuylkill River Banks and on Lemon Hill, sharing stories of their past traumas, and laughing at the beautiful absurdity of breaking a long silence. The song and video are meant to celebrate the bravery and strength of women and people of all genders who express femme identity or femininity, in the face of the physical and sexual violence that target them daily.
Kladky is the new solo project of Dani Gershkoff, about matriarchs, chosen family and healing through song. Join her to celebrate the release of Dawn EP on Oct 5th at the Art Dept. Collective. Purchase tickets here: https://www.eventbrite.com/myevent?eid=69274508921
